Tim Wu
As the Special Assistant to President Biden for Technology and Competition Policy (2021 – 2023), Tim Wu is widely regarded as the chief architect of the current administration’s antitrust policy. Currently the Julius Silver Professor of Law, Science, and Technology at Columbia Law School, Wu is also known for coining the term “net neutrality” before it became a federal law. Prior to his time in the Biden administration, Wu held numerous public service posts. He was enforcement counsel at the New York Attorney General’s Office, worked on competition policy for the National Economic Council during the Obama administration, and worked for the Federal Trade Commission on antitrust enforcement. Wu, a Silicon Valley veteran, is also a leading voice on AI and tech regulation and the author of influential books on modern communication, the attention economy, and corporate concentration.
